Kitchen Assistant/Porter (no split shifts)

Care Futures provides residential and day services for adults with learning disabilities, and for older people with dementia and Parkinsons.

The Team caters for healthy eating, allergies, soft diets and a varied menu for around 80 covers for weekday lunches, and fewer covers at weekends and evening meals.

Care Futures requires a Part-Time Kitchen Assistant to work in its busy kitchen at The Manor House, Frenchay, Bristol, under the direction of the Catering Supervisor.

You would be assisting the Catering Supervisor to prepare and cook lunchtime meals, and undertake preparation of food for tea time. Meals are collected from the Kitchen and taken by other staff to the dining areas for serving onto plates.

Your duties will include:

  • Preparation of vegetables
  • Washing up and cleaning
  • Putting stock deliveries int he store cupboards
  • Cleanliness and hygiene of all equipment, surfaces and store areas
  • Assisting the Catering Supervisor as directed

You would work 16 hours per week on a rota basis, with shift times covering two weekdays 8am-12pm and alternate weekends 7.30am-12.30pm. Additional shift cover opportunities will arise from time to time.

Previous experience is preferred but training would be given on the job to the right candidate.

Pay for this role is £7.50 per hour. A Workplace Pension Scheme is available with an Employer contribution of 1% (terms & conditions apply). Uniform provided. Free parking available on site.
